A Day In My Life | Concerts

The Vamps, The Maine and Bribry!

Hello friends here is the post we have all been waiting for...

A Day In My Life - Concerts

On the 5th of October 2014 I went to see The Vamps in concert for the 4th time. If you don't know who The Vamps are - number one, where have you been and number two, totally check them out. They are a British 4 piece pop group who released their debut album Meet The Vamps this year. My favourite songs from the album are Move My Way and On The Floor and luckily for me they performed both! As the concert was seated we didn't have to get their early to queue or anything so we got there half n hour before opening and got out merchandise afterwards - I bought the pack of 4 bracelets. They were wonderful live (as always) and they even did an All Time Low cover which was awesome. The night was rad and I would really recommend seeing them live if you ever get the chance!

 Here are my photos:

Moving on to The Maine, I saw The Maine on 7th of October 2014 for the first time. I have loved this band for such a long time now although I didn't have any friends that shared the love until this year which is why I hadn't seen them before. The show was awesome as the band performed so well and they sound just like the studio recording. The Maine are one of my music influences, I would love to tour the world playing beautiful indie rock music with my best friends while staying humble and happy through out. Once again I would really recommend seeing them live or checking them out if you don;t know who they are !!

Here are my photo's:

Now finally for my personal favourite out of the three, Bribry. I was second row at this concert (and The Maine) which I think makes a concert a lot better as you are closer to the artist. Doddleoddle (Dodie) was the support act and she is on of my favourite youtubers ever. She inspired me to buy my ukulele which was one of the best things I've ever bought with my own money. Both Dodie and Bribry (and Candice) put an a great, intimate show that was so much fun.

Here are my photos:

That is all really, I'll update you next time I have a concert or do something exciting for another ADIML !!

bye x

Is It Just Me Or... Tag + Update

Hey guys look who's back !!

So I should probably explain where I have been over the last few weeks. To start with, I said that I was going to post a concert experience for The Maine and The Vamps as I saw them both a couple of weeks back although school has been pretty intense. As some of you may know I am in year 11, this means that I am completing coursework and exams this year. In the past two weeks I have has 2 maths and one PE exam hence why I haven't updated the blog. Also my anxiety levels have been a lot higher therefore making me more weary and less confident about what I am writing. Anyway, I'm going to cut out the excuses and let you know whats going on; I will post the concert experience at some point although I am seeing Bribry on Monday so I will probably include that too but right now I have been tagged by my wonderful friend Charlotte ( http://sprinklesoflottie.blogspot.co.uk/ ) to do the Is It Just Me Or ... Tag, originally made by Amy from http://fashionanonymous2.blogspot.co.uk/

Amy's description of the tag:
You know when you have those weird moments where things happen to you or you thing about something and then you wonder if it's just you that does these random and weird things? Well I've had an idea to write about them so whoever is reading can think omg it is not just me that does this !

These are the things that make me wonder, is it just me or...
  • When reading a book I always picture it around my life. I find it really hard to get into the book if it doesn't relate to me or my life. This is probably the reason Fangirl (By Rainbow Rowell) and Paper towns (By John Green) are my favourite books. (I know paper towns isn't directly related to me but I like mystery's and romance, both of which are involved in this book!)
  • Another thing I do is when writing (in my case usually a song or a blog post) I forget what I am doing half way through and then get really angry at myself. Not even kidding I had to re read this sentence because I forgot the point... oops.
  • Finally, if I have a bunch of things in front of me such as on my school desk, I have to arrange them in perfect order. If they aren't straight and neat I start to feel anxious and very  uneasy. I know this sounds crazy but it's about to sound crazier because I'm not even a tidy or organised person. My room is messy and so is my head although my laptop files, wardrobe (well the clothes in it), make up and stationary are all organised perfectly.
That is all from me, I am going to tag anyone reading this!

Have a good week and I'll be back soon x

Things I Use On My Face

Things I Use On My Face - 21/09/2014

(photos will be added tomorrow)

I change my skin/face routine quite often so I am going to say that this is the first of a few posts on this. All of these products are either from Lush or The Body Shop simply because I find that their products work best with my skin (this is in no way sponsored).

The first thing I use is usually The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash. I use this to wash my face daily - sometimes twice - as it really cleans my skin and clears up spots as it has tea tree in it. The tea tree also makes it smell great which is a bonus.

The next thing I use is the Herbalism cleanser by Lush. I personally hate the smell of this product although it does do it's job.

After that, I use one of two products, the Mask Of Magnaminty by Lush or the De-Stressing Face Mask by Superdrug. Mask of Magnminty - there are multiple reasons I love this product, 1) The smell is one of my favourites ever 2) It clears up my spots and makes my skin feel super soft. 3) The name is a pun and I really love puns. De-Stressing Face Mask - this mask completely strips my pores and cleans my skin, it also leaves my face feeling super soft although is stronger than the lush mask.

Finally I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner (do you see a Tea Tree pattern here or?). I use this to kind of dry out my spots which it does very well.

That's all for this week, sorry it is short but I have homework and stuff.
Also I wont be posting next weekend as I am going to post on Monday 6th October and then again on the 8th (if not it will be the Sunday) as I am seeing The Vamps on the 5th and The Maine on the 7th!!

UPDATE !!!

Hey guys so I know that this is a lame excuse but I have gone back to school and can't update as often now. New post on Sunday though!!

Friday 5 September 2014

Monthly Favourites - August

I couldn't have survived this month without these products; well I probably could but they are still pretty great!

(not sponsored)

Beauty

My first beauty favourite is the Topshop lipstick Innocent. This lipstick is a very creamy pink colour that I think will be perfect for when I go back to school. This is a lipstick that is perfect for everyday wear as it is long lasting and doesn't dry out my lips.

The next is also from Topshop and is a lip paint called Reminisce that is now my go to lip product. This lip paint is honestly one of the best lip gloss' that I have purchased so far as the colour is long lasting, not sticky and holds it's shine. I could rave about this product all day but I do have some other things to talk about so I can't.

Another of my beauty favourites from this month is the Rimmel match perfection foundation (I wear shade 010 Light Porcelain). This foundation is very light weight yet still covers what I need it to. I get a lot of red blemishes on my chin and naturally rosy cheeks; this foundation cancels out a most of it meaning I don't really need to use concealer with it unless I have major spots.

My last beauty favourite for this month is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I have been using this brush since March and I still really love the coverage of the brush. It also feels super soft which is an absolute bonus!

Music

My favourite albums of this month are:

Masterpiece Theatre - Marianas Trench
My Everything - Ariana Grande
X - Ed Sheeran
Close The Distance - Go Radio
Memory Lane - McFly

These are my most played songs this month

Films

My favourite films of this month are Guardians Of The Galaxy and Amazing Spider-Man 2. These films are both really action packed, adventurous and funny. One thing you should know about me is that I adore Spider-Man; old films, new films and comic's. Growing up with and older brother made me really like superheros (and Transformers but I'll save that for another time!) I did watch this film when it first came out and cried but it recently came out on dvd so I can now relive the excellence!

Clothes -

My favourite store this month (the same as most other months) is Boohoo. Last month I ordered a few things from the online store and they are now my favourite items of clothing. To start is a grey and white striped shift dress with short sleeves. Unfortunately I can't seem to find this item on the website anymore but here is a photo of me wearing it.

My next fashion favourite, which is also from Boohoo, is a denim vest jacket with badges on. I love this jacket as it gives a rocker vibe to any look. I found that it looked really good with either leggings or a dress and converse.

Another of my fashion favourites is the tank tops from Topshop however they aren't normal tank tops. The straps on the back are closer together and the tops are slightly cropped. The material of these tops is so soft and the colouring is perfect. I have the colours white and grey and I really love them for dressy or casual outfits.

My final fashion favourite of this month is a pair of all black slip on vans. I bought these for school and I have fallen in love with them. They are the most comfortable shoes I own and as they are all black, go with most of the clothes I wear. I know for sure that these will be getting a lot of wear.

Other
I don't have all that many other favorites this month although I didn't want to leave this section out therefore I have put a few of my bath/body favourites also into this category. My first other favourite is the Lush Mask of Magnaniminty. This is a peppermint smelling face and back pack that helps get rid of acne and blemishes. This mask makes my skin feel so smooth and clears up my spots. I tend to use this every 2/3 days as it is exfoliating although it does do a great job.

My next favourite is the strawberry flavoured Poptarts. I love Poptarts at any time of the day as a small snack as they take about 1 minute in the toaster. If you have never had them before, they are a biscuit kind of base with icing and sprinkles on top and a strawberry jam inside. I don't usually like strawberry flavoured things (despite loving strawberry's) although the strawberry Poptarts are deffinately my favourite.

My favourite drink this month is the Pink Lemonade Lucozade. It is my favourite flavour and it is just a very nice drink. (Idk how to explain drinks I'm sorry)

My final favourite this month is 5 Seconds of Summer's iTunes Festival performance. Being one of my favourite bands does make me slightly biased towards them but the performance was so good and they seemed so happy and at home on stage along with their vocals being on point. Go give it a listen!

OOTD❤

Hey guys!

Just a short post for today so I have decided to do an outfit of the day. I will probably do around 1 or 2 of these a month just because they are fun, short and easy for me to do. (prices and links are listed below)

My outfit included a simple black vest top from NewLook that I bought about 8 months ago, a red tartan skirt from Forever21 that I re-found in my wardrobe from a while ago and finally my black converse that I bought this time last year and are now well and truly ruined paired with black frilly socks from TopShop.

My accessories include a black tattoo choker from eBay, a black string necklace with a lizard on it that Hannah brought back for me from her holiday in Spain last month, a simple gold chain necklace with a ruby gem that i received from my great aunt around 3 years ago and finally the bracelets i wear pretty much daily.

The bracelets I'm wearing are a blue, black and white string bracelet that I got from Skegness market last month, a cream string bracelet with wooden and plastic gems(?) that I got from Salt Rock in Torquay, a pink yarn bracelet that I bought from Claire's to match Tia (cult-party.blogspot.com), a clip on Pierce The Veil bracelet and finally my All Time Low tour replica as my tour bracelet broke </3.

That's all really as I didn't go anywhere other than over to my Nan's (hence the background of the photo).

Paperchase Back-To-School / Stationary Haul

Like many of you I am going back to school next Tuesday. This has given me an excuse to go and buy too many stationary pieces from one of my favourite shops... Paperchase! (I will link all products at the end)

I ordered a bunch of things from Paperchase yesterday and my box arrived the next day. I would also like to point out how good the service was, the website was very easy to use and the delivery service sent me a text to tell me when I should expect my delivery - between 1 and 2 pm - (it arrived on time).

The first thing I saw when I opened the box was the pack of three A5 notepads in colours green, blue and red. These are really cool as well as being perfect to keep pretty much anything in. You can never have too many notebooks!

Next were the 4 pack of pastel sharpies in the colours pink, green, blue and purple. I love sharpies as they are great to decorate your text books along with just looking pretty in general. I used the sharpies to write my name on the front of the red notepad (see photo).

After the sharpies was the pack of assorted card. I like to have random pieces of card around because you never know when your are going to need so silver card right? Probably not but it looks nice ok!?

Another useless thing I got was some grey polka dot washi tape. This tape isn't just used to wrap presents, it can also be used to decorate notebooks and other stationary pieces. I used it to make a calendar along with the calendar stickers I also bought. (see photo)

Now onto the calendar stickers I just spoke about. The stickers were one of my favourite things as they are so useful for school. The stickers started from July 2014 to June 2015 which is a whole school year. There were 5 in a pack, this was a really great surprise as I only paid around £1.50 for the packet!

The final thing I bought was a 10 subject notebook which was an insanely good price at only £8!!! This might be the best (and most useful) thing I bought in this haul as it will come in handy when I need to revise for my GCSE's. I stuck the calendar stickers and washi tape onto the back of the notebook to make a useful calendar on the back.

first post♡

I have been wanting to start a blog for so long now but have never gotten the hang of this website. Anyway, to start off I should probably tell you a bit about myself♡

Hi my name is Emily (preferably Em) and I am 15 years old. My birthday is 7th February and I am about to go into year 11. I am from Birmingham, England and have lived here all my life. My interests include make up, music, fashion, writing and my ukulele.

My favourite brands of makeup are Mac and Rimmel, especially their lipsticks. I have a soft spot for Lush and The Body Shop as their products do wonders to my skin (blog post to come!).

The music I listen to varies daily from One Direction to A Day To Remember. My favourite bands are McFly, All Time Low, Pierce The Veil, One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer and Blink-182. I enjoy going to concerts (another blog post to come!) and listening to music in general. Bands and concerts mean a lot to me as I met most of my best friends through concerts/bands.

To me fashion is a way to express the way you feel, for example I am a pessimist (this means I look at the negative rather than positive in situations) therefore wear black, grey and generally dark colours where as my Nan is very happy-go-lucky and optimistic, this shows as she wears floral print and bright colours. My favourite clothing shops are H&M and Topshop (also Hot Topic but I'm British and have only ever received gifts from there and not actually been myself).

Probably my favourite hobby is to write. I like to write anything from lists to detailed story's about dragons and wizards. Even though I am a sucker for a good romance book/movie I really enjoy action packed stories where there are heroes, villains and lots of fighting.

That's all for now but I will update soon so bye loves - em♡
